Security and Safety

Children’s University of Chapel Hill knows you want a safe and secure environment for your children.  In addition to full site burglar and fire sensor systems, we provide door entry access via secure cards into both Main Hall and Baby House. Entrance to both buildings is accomplished by swiping an ADT proximity card near the readers by each door.

While Children’s University will always maintain an open door policy for our families, we wanted parents to have the security of knowing that only authorized individuals would be able to enter the school. With this card system, you can be assured that all other visitors will be accompanied by a Children’s University faculty or staff member during their visit.

In addition to our security system, we have tall wooden fences between the public and our playgrounds.  All classroom movement is accomplished within the safety of the center or behind the fully enclosed fencing of our eight connected playgrounds.
